Remains Found on Nak’azdli Reserve
RCMP have confirmed that human remains were found in a rural area of Fort Saint James.
Major Crimes investigators, local RCMP, and Forensic ID officers have sealed off a location along Lower Road on the Nak’azdli reserve as they investigate a suspicious death.
Police say the remains were found in a vacant home on the property and appear to be recent.
Corporal Annie Linteau says more time and forensic analysis will be needed to confirm the victim’s gender, age, and ID, but she says investigators don’t think the discovery is related to a historical crime.
RCMP will continue to process the scene over the weekend.
Anyone with information about the suspicious death is asked to contact the police or Crimestoppers.
