Seafarers’ Mission Centre Opens
The City of Prince Rupert now has sanctuary for visiting seafarers thanks in part to a contribution from the port authority.
The Prince Rupert Seafarers’ Mission Centre is located at 245 Third Avenue West in the downtown core and is run by Lighthouse Harbour Ministries Prince Rupert.
Port Authority Operations Vice President and Harbour Master Gary Paulson says the mission of the authority is to ensure the security of visiting ships while the staff at the centre will care for the souls aboard those ships.
The port authority announced a contribution of $25,000 to the mission centre Saturday.
